Honduras: Goldlake invests US$230m in 1.2Mta plant

Italy’s mining company Goldlake will invest US$230m in a new cement plant via its local subsidiary Five Star Mining. The 1.2Mta works in the Agalteca valley will produce sulphate-resistant cement for marine infrastructure projects. Five Star Mining (FSM) intends to invest US$200m over three years in the Honduran cement and mining industry, according to the country’s Subsecretariat of Environment and Mining. The company has been granted a mining concession and is currently undertaking a feasibility study to establish a cement company.
